TAYLOR SWIFT CROWNED IFPI’S GLOBAL BEST-SELLING ARTIST OF 2019 – (03/03/2020)

Taylor Swift was the best-selling recording artist of 2019, according to the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), the organization that represents the recorded music industry worldwide.

It is the second time she has earned the honor, with the first being in 2014.

Swift follows 2018’s top seller, Drake, who fell to eighth place in 2019. Ed Sheeran came in second, while in third place was Post Malone.

LADY GAGA TO RELEASE NEW ALBUM ‘CHROMATICA’ ON APRIL 10TH – (03/03/2020)

Lady Gaga has announced that her sixth studio album, Chromatica, will be released on April 10th.

She made the announcement on Twitter alongside an image of a pink, circular object. “This is not the album cover but we made it for you to enjoy in the meantime,” Gaga said. The cover will be released at a later date. Judging by the album’s page on iTunes, the album will contain 16 songs.

Chromatica will be available on CD, vinyl and cassette. Gaga also released a new line of Chromatica-themed merchandise on her official website.

The album, executive produced by Gaga and BloodPop, follows Joanne which was released in 2016.

On Friday, Gaga released a fantastical music video for Chromatica’s first single titled “Stupid Love.” The clip features the singer bringing peace to a number of colorfully dressed groups who are feuding with each other in a barren desert.

DEMI LOVATO REVEALS HER NEXT SINGLE ‘I LOVE ME’ IS COMING: Demi Lovato announced that her new single “I Love Me” will drop on Friday. Demi took to Instagram to reveal the news, writing, “Couldn’t keep it a secret any longer!!! My new single #ILoveMe is out on Friday 💗💗.” She also shared the single artwork. “I Love Me” is seemingly the first official single from Demi’s upcoming seventh album, which has not yet been announced. Her previous album was released in September 2017.

NIALL HORAN ANNOUNCES WEEK-LONG RESIDENCY ON ‘THE LATE LATE SHOW WITH JAMES CORDEN’: Niall Horan is the latest star to book a “residency” on The Late Late Show with James Corden. Horan is launching his new album, Heartbreak Weather, on March 13th. Niall will perform a new song each night of the week starting March 9th. He’ll also sit for an interview with James Corden and on Thursday night, he’ll do “Carpool Karaoke.”

JAMES LIPTON DIES: James Lipton, the longtime writer, producer and host of the Emmy-winning Inside the Actors Studio, has died at age 93. He is survived by his wife Kendekai Turner, who said he died on Monday from bladder cancer. Lipton created Inside the Actors Studio in 1994, and remained on board until he stepped down in 2018 after 25 years. The long-running show focused on interviews with famous actors, about their craft and their careers. All told, he interviewed more than 200 people, including George Clooney, Bradley Cooper, Brad Pitt, Al Pacino, Barbra Streisand and Julia Roberts.
