BTS IS THE TOP-SELLING GLOBAL ARTIST OF 2020 – (03/05/2021)

BTS edged out Taylor Swift to become the best-selling global artist of 2020.

The K-Pop group is the first act whose songs are not predominantly sung in English to claim the top spot on IFPI’s list.

The rest of the top-ten included Drake, Billie Eilish, Eminem, Post Malone, Ariana Grande, Juice Wrld and Justin Bieber.

Global sales, downloads and streams are all taken into account when the IFPI calculates the winner, covering the entirety of each artist’s back catalogue.

MILEY CYRUS SIGNS WITH RCA – (03/05/2021)

Miley Cyrus has a new record label. 

The “Prisoner” singer has signed with Columbia Records after seven years and four albums on Sony Music sister label RCA. 

She shared a photo of herself holding up the new contract on her Instagram story Thursday (March 4th) with the caption “When I’m not running game. I’m running my MF Business. Letsssss ride.”

Columbia is home to artists such as Adele, Bruce Springsteen and Harry Styles, among others. Cyrus’s sister Noah is signed with Columbia-distributed RECORDS label.

MATHEW KNOWLES IS NOT HERE FOR BEYONCE AND CHLOE BAILEY COMPARISONS – (03/05/2021)

Mathew Knowles was insulted during an interview after being asked about Beyonce and Chloe Bailey comparisons.  During the Instagram Live interview, journalist Leah A. Henry asked how he felt about the comparisons with Beyonce and Chloe Bailey.

He responded, “You’ve got to be kidding me right? You’re asking me that question. Are you actually serious? That you’re comparing that young lady to Beyoncé? Talent wise? Are you telling me talent wise somebody is idiot enough to compare her to Beyoncé talent wise?”

Leah responded, “They say she’s a young Beyoncé in the making.”

Mathew said, “I’m asking you a yes or no question.  Are you telling me someone is idiot enough to compare her to Beyoncé talent wise? It’s a yes or no. Are there people saying her talent is equal to Beyonce? They’re an idiot, period. That’s actually insulting to Beyoncé.”

He added, “If you wanted to call out Barbara Streisand or some people like that…like come on, man.”

Leah said, “Chloe is talented though. That’s why Beyoncé picked her.” Mathewe responded, “I want to get off this topic. I don’t even want to talk about.” Moments later, Knowles left the interview after people started commented that what he said was mean and unnecessary.

BEBE REXHA WANTS TO GET FLASHER BANNED FROM INSTAGRAM – (03/05/2021)

Bebe Rexha is asking fans to help her identify the man who flashed her during an Instagram Live. 

The singer apologized to fans who were offended and addressed the flasher directly saying, “How could you come on my livechat when there’s kids and people…?”

She added that she wanted to report him to Instagram so that he could never do that again.

Rexha continued, “Plus you should be ashamed of yourself because you have a small thingy.”

CHRIS HARRISON WANTS TO RETURN TO ‘THE BACHELOR’ – (03/05/2021)

Chris Harrison is speaking out in a TV interview on Good Morning America for the first time after stepping down as host of The Bachelor following controversial remarks. It appears he mnay have a ways to go in the battle to win over critics. GMA’s co-host Michael Strahan dubbed his response just a “surface” apology. 

Harrison discussed defending contestant Rachael Kirkconnell‘s resurfaced antebellum plantation-themed photos with Strahan. He made the remarks during a discussion with Rachel Lindsay

Harrison said: [“I am an imperfect man I made a mistake and I own that. I believe that mistake doesn’t reflect who I am or what I stand for. I am committed to the progress not just for myself also for the franchise.”] SOUNDCUE (:21 OC: . . .for the franchise.)

He added: “I’m sorry to Rachel Lindsay and the black community.” And:  “Antebellum parties are not OK. Past, present, future, knowing what that represents is unacceptable.”

Harrison wants to return as host. He said: “I want to be back but this interview is not the finish line.”

After the interview, Strahan described his conversation with Harrison as a “surface response.”
