TWITTER GREETS KIM KARDASHIAN’S BABY WITH JOY, JOKES – (05/13/2019)

Kim Kardashian announced on Twitter Friday that she and her husband Kanye West welcomed their fourth child via surrogate.

The tweet was simple: “He’s here and he’s perfect!” But also vague enough for the Twitterverse to pile on with the jokes. Wrote one wit: “when you open the front door at 1am and the photo was accurate,” while another opined: “When my cat comes to sit on my lap.”

Kim and Kanye confirmed in January that they’d be welcoming their fourth child together, and their second via surrogate. They were hoping to work with the same surrogate mom, but she was reportedly pregnant with her own child. The baby boy joins Chicago, 15 months, North, almost six, and Saint, 3. She has not yet shared their son’s name.

CHILL BABY

In celebration of the baby’s arrival in late April, Kim’s friends and family gathered for a CBD & Meditation themed baby shower.

Did the vibes pay off? According to a post she shared Saturday, the thus-far unnamed babes is pretty laid-back.

“We celebrated our baby boy about a week ago and now he’s here! He’s so perfect! Here are some pics of my CBD baby shower,” she wrote. “I was freaking out for nothing because he is the most calm and chill of all of my babies so far and everyone loves him so much.”

BREATHING CLASSES

Meanwhile, the star also addressed a minor scandal over her teeny-tiny waist (fans suspected she’d had ribs removed) on Instagram. She explained that in addition to wearing a corset to “train” her waist, she received “corset breathing lessons” from the acclaimed French couturier Mister Pearl to prepare.

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE AND MISSY ELLIOTT RECEIVE HONORARY DOCTORATES AT BERKLEE COLLEGE OF MUSIC – (05/13/2019)

Justin Timberlake and Missy Elliott were honored with doctorate degrees from the Berklee College of Music on Saturday. Composer and musical director Alex Lacamoire also received an honorary degree for his work in Hamilton, In The Heights and Dear Evan Hansen.

“This year’s honorary doctorate recipients are being recognized for their achievements and influences in music, and for their enduring global impact,” the school said in a statement.

The pop star and rap queen – who’s the first hip-hop artist to receive the honor from Berklee – enjoyed a celebratory weekend with Berklee’s staff and students, which culminated at commencement when they were handed their honorary doctorates in music. During the event, the graduating students paid tribute to the two musicians by performing some of the biggest songs from over the years.

During the event, Justin spoke out about music, inspiration and collaborations. “I’m in love with songs and the feel of music. I dare to suck when I’m writing them, though I try to make it look easy when I’m onstage. It always comes down to a really great song,” he said. Timberlake cracked a few jokes during his speech and riffed on his newly minted doctor status: “I was saying earlier, I don’t do surgeries, but I could probably work out some prescriptions!” he joked. He also doled out some advice,: “You’re defined by what you define failure as. It’s not a thing if it leads you to your success. It’s all part of the journey.”

Elliott broke down in tears before offering words of wisdom to Berklee’s graduating class upon receiving her degree. “I don’t even know how I’m standing here, but I thank y’all, I thank God,” she said. “I just want y’all to know, there will be ups and downs. Prepare for that, but don’t give up. I know you may hear that all the time, but if I had given up long ago, I wouldn’t be standing here today. You have come too far to quit.”

She went on to talk about the various trials and tribulations she’s weathered throughout her career, from dealing with archaic beauty standards on the come-up to losing out on awards and coping with Graves disease, which she was diagnosed with in 2011.

In closing, she joked around that she’ll be wearing her cap and gown again, and frequently: “in the shower, in all my next videos, everywhere I go!”

JONAS BROTHERS ON ‘SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE’ – (05/13/2019)

The Jonas Brothers dominated Saturday Night Live for the trio’s first return to the program since 2009.

Nick, Joe and Kevin Jonas were everywhere in the famed Studio 8H, weeks before the release of their album Happiness Begins (out June 7th) and tour.

The trio appeared in the “Judge Court” sketch as defendants who burned down a $5 million vacation home, telling the panel of judges, “We accept the consequences of our horseplay.” But the judges – played by Kate McKinnon, host Emma Thompson and Aidy Bryant – only sentenced them to dinner.

Thompson then introduced the trio who kicked it in musically, appearing on a balloon-filled set to perform their new single, “Sucker.” The second number was a medley, which started with the single “Cool,” before Nick Jonas announced, “Let’s bring it back right now.” The trio then rolled back to their fan-favorite 2008 single “Burnin’ Up.”

The brothers and their wives, Priyanka Chopra, Sophie Turner and Danielle Jonas, also made a triumphant appearance backstage, which they shared on Twitter. “What a night,” the tweet read.
