ARIANA GRANDE POSTS TRIBUTE ON SECOND ANNIVERSARY OF MANCHESTER ATTACK – (05/23/2019)

Ariana Grande marked the second anniversary of the Manchester concert attack with a simple tribute.

On her Instagram Story, she posted a black screen with the bee emoji in the center. The “worker bee” has been a symbol of the hard-working U.K. city of Manchester for decades and in the wake of the tragedy, it became a symbol of the city’s resilience.

Last year, following the one-year anniversary of the bombing, Ariana got a tattoo of the bee inked behind her ear. Ariana’s music video for “No Tears Left to Cry” also features a bee flying away in the last shot, as a nod to the city.

Twenty-two people were killed and 139 injured on May 22, 2017, when a suicide bomber set off an explosive device outside of Manchester Arena following Ariana’s concert there.

Grande later hosted a star-studded fundraiser for the victims and families of the bombing. The One Love Manchester Benefit Concert on June 4, 2017, included appearances by Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Coldplay, Liam Gallagher, Katy Perry and many more. The event raises $23 million. She was subsequently named an honorary citizen of Manchester.

The singer’s mother, Joan, posted her own tribute to the city on Wednesday as well, writing, “All my love Manchester, today and everyday… you are with me always, in my heart and in my mind. To ALL of you who have suffered and still stuff from tremendous loss, trauma or devastating injury..”

Grande is returning to Manchester in August to headline the city’s Pride Festival, which will be the first time she will play the city since the One Love show.

P!nk celebrated her return to New York City’s Madison Square Garden Tuesday with a little help from one of her famous friends – Chris Stapleton.

The two united on stage to sing their new duet “Love Me Anyway.” Pink started the intimate ballad in a flood of spotlights with only a piano and a couple string players. Later, the audience erupted in applause as Chris walked on to harmonize with her.

After the song was over, Pink hugged Chris and fell to the floor in mock worship as he exited.

“One of my absolute favorite songwriters, favorite voice, and person. Chris Stapleton,” Pink wrote on Instagram following the performance. “What an absolute honor to share a stage with you my friend.”

MIRACULOUSLY, SHARON TATE’S SISTER APPROVES OF MARGOT ROBBIE’S PORTRAYAL – (05/23/2019)

Notoriously difficult to please Debra Tate is here for Margot Robbie’s portrayal of her murdered sister, the actress Sharon Tate, in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

She told TMZ that she was worried Sharon would come off as an egomaniac, but that Margot managed to pull it off: “Depending on how Margot played it, it could’ve appeared egotistical. But, no, she did a beautiful job. Sharon did not have an egotistical bone in her body. Margot captures Sharon’s sweetness very nicely.”

This is major because Debra has become notorious for savaging stars who depict her sister. She called Hilary Duff’s portrayal of Sharon “classless” and “exploitative,” saying “It doesn’t matter who it is acting in it – it’s just tasteless. It’s classless how everyone is rushing to release something for the 50th anniversary of this horrific event.”

When she learned that Tarantino was considering Jennifer Lawrence for the role of Sharon, she said: “Not that I have anything against [Lawrence], but she’s…she’s not pretty enough to play Sharon. That’s a horrible thing to say, but you know. I have my standards.”

Tate, of course, was murdered in 1969 by members of the Charles Manson cult. The cult’s intersection with Hollywood is portrayed in Once Upon a Time, which also stars Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio
