ADAM LEVINE GAVE UP A HUGE PAYCHECK BY LEAVING ‘THE VOICE’ – (05/31/2019)

New details are emerging about Adam Levine’s departure from The Voice.

It was announced last week that the Maroon 5 star would be leaving the NBC reality competition series after 16 seasons. The news came as a major surprise to fans, especially because Levine had previously been announced as one of the Season 17 coaches, along with Blake Shelton, John Legend and Kelly Clarkson. It’s since been revealed that Gwen Stefani will be joining the coaches for Season 17.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Levine had signed on for two more seasons before news of his exit emerged. As for his per-season salary, sources shared that the 40-year-old singer made “north of $14 million.” So, that means his deal for Seasons 17 and 18 would’ve been around $30 million.

Shortly after The Voice host Carson Daly announced Levine’s exit on the Today show, Levine opened up about his departure on Instagram, calling his time on the show “a life shaping experience that will be close to my heart forever.” After thanking NBC, host Daly, as well as his fellow coaches, Levine thanked the fans.

“There’s literally no show without you guys,” Levine wrote. “For me, it was time to move on. Your support has meant EVERYTHING.”

JOE JONAS JOKES DIPLO ‘RUINED’ HIS VEGAS WEDDING TO SOPHIE TURNER – (05/31/2019)

Joe Jonas jokes that Diplo ruined his wedding to Sophie Turner by live-streaming the entire Las Vegas ceremony on his Instagram.

Jonas and Turner tied the knot in a spontaneous ceremony after the Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas last month, and Diplo was among the guests. Going live on Instagram, Diplo’s footage of the wedding quickly went viral.

“Yeah, he did ruin it,” Jonas said on the Capital Breakfast radio show when one of the DJs said “Diplo ruined it for you.” He continued, “I love Diplo, but he loves his ‘gram more than a 13-year-old. He posts every five seconds. He literally, like, live-streamed with dog face filters.”

It turns out, the DJ-producer wasn’t exactly authorized to share the news on his social media.

But Joe and Sophie have no hard feelings. “We just laughed, we loved it, we thought it was ridiculous,” he said. “I just love that he was walking into the chapel like, ‘Gonna hit this wedding real quick.’”

JONAS BROTHERS FEEL THE HEAT ON NEW EPISODE OF ‘HOT ONES’ – (05/31/2019)

The Jonas Brothers are back and hotter than ever.

Nick, Joe, and Kevin kicked off Season 9 of Hot Ones by sitting down with First We Feast’s Sean Evans to answer some personal questions and snack on a sampling of spicy wings.

While living out some lyrics to their hit song, “Burnin’ Up,” the brothers discussed everything from their upcoming album, Happiness Begins, to the coffee cup in Game of Thrones, and fellow musicians.

In between choking down ridiculously spicy wings, the JoBros shared a lot, including an allegation that John Mayer ripped off one of their songs. Nick shared:

[“It’s funny you bring up John Mayer. He did kind of copy a song of ours. Little known fact. You can look it up on YouTube. “So the story is he came to us at the Grammys years ago and was like, ‘I love your song ‘Lovebug. Two years later, he released a song and the chorus is literally the same, but with different lyrics.”]

However, Nick said he and his brothers don’t hold a grudge. “It’s a compliment when someone does that,” he said. In fact, fans had previously noticed a resemblance between “Lovebug” and Mayer’s “Walt Grace’s Submarine Test, January 1967” off his 2012 Born and Raised album.

Joe, meanwhile, admitted he needs a teleprompter to remember the lyrics to some of their own songs.

[“I’m just gonna have these prompters on stage and be shameless about it. I don’t need them for every song, but 90% of the songs.”]

The Brothers also responded to a diss line from Jay-Z, who rapped about the band in his 2009 track “On to the Next One.” “No I’m not a Jonas Brother, I’m a grown up,” Jay-Z raps in the song. “No, I’m not a virgin, I use my cajones.”

Joe admitted that being name-checked in a Jay-Z song was “awesome,” but also pointed out that he had removed his purity ring by the time the song was released.

[“Little does Jay-Z know, I used my cajones since before that, so… joke’s on you, Jay-Z. Fact check your stuff.”]

The band’s new album, Happiness Begins, is set to release on June 7th, followed by a reunion tour – their first in nearly a decade.
