POPSICLE’S DOUBLE POPS MAKING A COMEBACK DUE TO JUSTIN BIEBER – (07/19/2019)

One of the most popular frozen treats of all time may be staging a comeback thanks to Justin Bieber.

In May, both Bieber and manager Scooter Braun took to social media when they realized that Popsicle’s Double Pops were nowhere to be found.

On Twitter, Bieber tagged Popsicle, saying “We need those back!” Braun made his own post on Instagram, calling it an “outrage!!!”

Popsicle took notice and responded to Bieber’s tweet, saying “we’ll see what we can do for you.” Now, Popsicle has announced that a limited batch of the Double Pops has been made. And, for 100k retweets, Popsicle promises to make the comeback permanent.

Given that Bieber already retweeted Popsicle’s tweet to his 106 million followers, the goal should be reached in no time, though Popsicle won’t announce the outcome until July 23rd.

SEE TAYLOR SWIFT AS BOMBALURINA IN NEW ‘CATS’ TRAILER – (07/19/2019)

The official trailer for Cats has arrived, featuring Taylor Swift in the role of Bombalurina.

Swift will star in the film adaptation of the Broadway musical alongside Judi Dench, Ian McKellen, Idris Elba, James Corden, Jennifer Hudson, Rebel Wilson, and many others. They are all digitally covered in fur, yet still recognizable, dancing and doing cat-like things in London, which seems enormous because everything is seen from a cat’s point of view.

The trailer, which runs more than two minutes, gives us the first look at Taylor in character as Bombalurina, lying in a hammock, sprinkling catnip from a sequined canister.

Jennifer Hudson, as Grizabella, belts out the movie’s best-known number, “Memory.

Based on the wildly popular musical of the same name, Cats follows a group of “Jellicle cats,” who vie to be selected by their leader, Old Deuteronomy, to travel to the “Heaviside layer” to start a new life.

The trailer was met with mixed reactions.

Social media users found the combination of real people and CGI a bit unnerving – especially since the actors almost look naked in their feline get-ups. “Somehow the people in Cats look more nude than if they were actually nude, and it’s weird as hell,” wrote one Twitter user.

Some couldn’t resist comparing the reaction to Cats to the recent response when Sonic the Hedgehog revealed its own movie character. The reaction was so negative that Sony went back to the drawing board to fix the character’s appearance.

And the size of the cat-actors when combined with the sets seems off to some. “I own a very small cat,” wrote users tweeted. “She does not look this tiny on my bed.”

Cats hits movie theaters December 20th.
