ARIANA GRANDE SUES FOREVER 21 – (09/04/2019)

Ariana Grande has a problem with Forever 21.

Ariana is suing Forever 21, as well as Riley Rose – a beauty company started by daughters of Forever 21’s founders – for “unauthorized use” of her “name, image, likeness and music” to promote their brands and boost sales.

Ari is seeking damages in an amount “no less than $10 million.” According to the lawsuit, Forever 21 tried to sign Ariana to an endorsement deal “in or around early 2019,” which “she explicitly declined due to Forever 21’s unwillingness to pay the fair market value for a celebrity of Ms. Grande’s stature.”

But then, according to the documents, Ariana’s images and music were used in the brand’s social media posts on Instagram in January and February 2019.

“The campaign capitalized on the concurrent success of Ms. Grande’s album thank U, next by publishing at least 30 unauthorized images and videos misappropriating Ms. Grande’s name, image, likeness, and music in order to create the false perception of her endorsement,” the lawsuit stated.

As for Riley Rose, the suit says both it and Forever 21, “fearing irrelevance in a rapidly evolving market with increasing competition,” allegedly stole Grande’s “intellectual property to promote their brands for free.”

The lawsuit alleges the defendants “falsely suggested” Grande’s endorsement by posting photos of a “look-alike model” in clothing and accessories resembling ones from the star’s music videos, including “7 Rings.”

The suit notes that Ariana is “selective of the brands” she partners with “and frequently turns down endorsement proposals.”

ROBERT PATTINSON WAS FURIOUS OVER ‘BATMAN’ CASTING LEAK – (09/04/2019)

STATIONS: Please note the following story contains language that could be considered offensive to your audience.

When news broke that Robert Pattinson had been cast as Batman, fans rejoiced. But the actor tells Variety that he was furious, and was worried that the rumor mill had blown his deal.

He said: “When that thing leaked, I was f***ing furious. Everyone was so upset. Everyone was panicking from my team. I sort of thought that had blown up the whole thing.”

Pattinson added: “It was terrifying. I was like, ‘Oh f***! Does that screw me because they are so intent on secrecy?'”

Pattinson said he took to Google to see if there were rumors of the studio backing down, but thankfully, it’s now official: he will play Batman in Matt Reeves’ rendition of the classic.

Pattinson said he grew up watching the caped crusader: “When I was a kid, it was the only outfit that I had,” and admitting to attempting to get multiple meetings with Reeves before finally succeeding.

He also said the grown-up batsuit is different than the kiddo version: “You do feel very powerful immediately. And it’s pretty astonishing, something that is incredibly difficult to get into, so the ritual of getting into it is pretty humiliating. You’ve got five people trying to shove you into something. Once you’ve got it on, it’s like, ‘Yeah, I feel strong, I feel tough, even though I had to have someone squeezing my butt cheeks into the legs.'”

Pattinson also opened up about an unexpected theme throughout his film career: “I keep masturbating. In the last three or four movies, I’ve got a masturbation scene. I did it in High Life. I did it in Damsel. And The Devil All the Time. I only realized when I did it the fourth time.”
