JENNIFER LOPEZ AND ALEX RODRIGUEZ DONATE A YEAR’S WORTH OF FOOD TO TENNESSEE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL – (10/25/2019)

Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez have donated a year’s worth of food to a Tennessee elementary school. According to People, the couple saw a teacher’s viral post about one of her students who often goes hungry. JLo and ARod quickly offered a helping hand and donated to Jacksboro Elementary School’s food pantry by contributing meals from their new company, Tiller & Hatch.

Brooke Goins, a teacher at Jacksboro Elementary wrote in a Facebook post on October 2nd, “Today I cried at work. Not because I hate my job, or that it is just too hard (it really is). Today I cried for a child, a child who so innocently talked about food, and the lack of it. He asked when the lady that puts food in his backpack was coming. He told me he was out of it at home and needed more … No kid should ever be hungry, ever.”

JLo said when she heard about the story, she had to help. She shared a video on Instagram, with a caption that said, “When we heard about the students and amazing teachers at Jacksboro Elementary in Tennessee, we knew we had to help.  We heard teachers were helping students bring home food when they didn’t have enough.  When we saw this story, it brought tears not just to my eyes, but Alex’s as well!  I don’t know if you guys know, but Alex and I are part owners in a company called Tiller & Hatch, and we decided to donate a years worth of of their yummy, healthy meals, for the students and their school’s food pantry.”

HARRY CONNICK JR. GETS STAR ON HOLLYWOOD WALK OF FAME – (10/25/2019)

A star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame was unveiled Thursday honoring Harry Connick Jr. for a career in which he has sold more than 30 million albums, had 13 No. 1 jazz albums, and won three Grammys and two Emmys.

His wife, model Jill Goodacre, and their three daughters, Georgia, Charlotte and Sarah, were on-hand for the presentation of the star, which is located near that of late songwriter Cole Porter, an idol of Connick’s.

Renee Zellweger, his co-star in the 2009 movie New in Town, spoke at the event. “Among the many folks who have gifted the world artistic treasure, some have been blessed with such degrees of genius and originality, it sets them apart. Not every generation is blessed with an original, but we are and since he is standing right here conveniently, let’s embarrass Harry with the evidence,” the Oscar-winner said, rattling off a list of his many accomplishments.

Connick Jr. is also known for his roles in the films Memphis Belle, Copycat, Independence Day, Hope Floats and The Iron Giant.

The ceremony comes one day before the release of his Connick’s album, True Love: A Celebration of Cole Porter, what Connick describes as “the first time I’ve taken a deep dive into another artist’s repertoire.” Connick’s star is next to Porter’s. The placement was coincidental, said Ana Martinez, producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

TAYLOR SWIFT SINGS NEW SONG ‘BEAUTIFUL GHOSTS’ FOR ‘CATS’ – (10/25/2019)

Taylor Swift collaborated with famed composer Andrew Lloyd Webber for “Beautiful Ghosts,” a new song for the upcoming Cats movie.

Universal Pictures dropped a featurette about the making of the song and it includes a clip of Taylor recording it in the studio.

“Beautiful Ghosts” will be performed by Francesca Hayward in the movie and Taylor has recorded her own version for the film’s end credits.

“When I first read the screenplay, the first thing I said was, ‘We have to have a song for Victoria,’” composer Andrew Lloyd Webber said. “Beautiful Ghosts [is now] an incredibly important and central part of the whole film.”

“What I couldn’t believe was the extraordinary beauty of these lyrics that Taylor had written,” director Tom Hooper said. “It was as if someone had come into the film I was in the middle of making and … had reflected back to me a profound understanding of what we are trying to do with the movie. It was utterly thrilling.”

Taylor added, “You can’t write a modern lyric for Cats. So if you can’t get T.S. Eliot, get T.S… I’m here for you.”

Meanwhile, Taylor is celebrating her 13th music anniversary in the best way.

Taking to Instagram yesterday, the 29-year-old shared a throwback pic from one of her first ever concerts, and paired it with a massive thank you to her fans.

“I said in an interview 13 years ago ‘I’m just hoping that I have a second album that does as well as the first and someday get to be a headliner, and always be the same person that I started out as,’” Taylor recalled with the Instagram post. “Scrolling through your posts today has me feeling all the feelings & I want to thank you.”

She adds, “Because of you, there was a 2nd 3rd 4th 5th 6th and 7th album. You guys made me into a headliner because you wanted to see me play. And your support all these years is what’s helped me stay true to that kid I was when I started out. #13yearsoftaylorswift.”
