BILLIE EILISH NAMED BILLBOARD 2019 WOMAN OF THE YEAR – (11/26/2019)

Fresh off her double win at Sunday’s American Music Awards, Billie Eilish has earned a new title as Billboard’s 2019 Woman of the Year.

The 17-year-old will receive the honor at Billboard’s annual Women in Music Event, held December 12th in Los Angeles.

“Billie has disrupted the entertainment industry through her music and social media platforms, leaving an indelible impact on the global cultural zeitgeist,” says Hannah Karp, Billboard’s Editorial Director. Karp continues, “Her ability to speak to the Gen-Z population, making teens and young adults feel accepted in today’s society has quickly allowed Billie to grow to the top of the charts, breaking the mold for this generation with her electric hair-color and sharp attitude.”

As Billboard’s youngest-ever Woman of the Year recipient, Eilish has quickly become one of popular music’s most innovative and in-demand voices. Eilish was the first artist born in the 21st century to top the Billboard 200 albums chart with her acclaimed debut WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?, which included the No. 1 hit “bad guy.” The single became the first Alternative Songs No. 1 to top the Hot 100 in six years, and remains one of the longest-running songs on the Hot 100 chart of 2019.

The genre-blending artist has also broken the record for most simultaneously charted Hot 100 titles among women (14), and is currently the most-streamed female artist, with over six billion on-demand streams in the U.S. alone, according to Nielsen Music.

Eilish has also been a strong advocate for climate change action and gender equality in the music industry.

“Billie has disrupted the entertainment industry through her music and social media platforms, leaving an indelible impact on the global cultural zeitgeist,” said Hannah Karp, Billboard’s Editorial Director. “Her ability to speak to the Gen-Z population, making teens and young adults feel accepted in today’s society has quickly allowed Billie to grow to the top of the charts, breaking the mold for this generation with her electric hair-color and sharp attitude.”

Presented by YouTube Music and hosted by last year’s Rising Star Hayley Kiyoko, Billboard’s Women in Music event will celebrate the achievements of the top female artists and executives in the industry including Taylor Swift, Alanis Morissette, Brandi Carlile and Nicki Minaj with additional honorees in the coming weeks. The 14th annual Women in Music Event and Red Carpet Pre-show will stream live via YouTube.com/Billboard starting at 6pm PT/9pm [ET].

Previous Billboard Woman of the Year honorees include Ariana Grande, Selena Gomez, Madonna, Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift.

Selena Gomez reportedly suffered a panic attack before stepping on stage for her performance at the 2019 American Music Awards this weekend.

The 27-year-old singer performed her two new singles to open the show and she put “a lot of pressure” on herself ahead of her first live TV performance in two years.

“Selena definitely had anxiety and a panic attack before she went out and was putting a lot of pressure on herself,” a source said. Another source told People, “She definitely had a panic attack. She was nervous. She hasn’t been on stage in two years, and it’s an important song in her career. She really wanted to deliver.”

Selena has been very open with her struggles with anxiety in the recent past.

After the opening performance though, Selena headed to Instagram to thank her fans for sticking by her side and supporting her in the toughest of times.

“Feels good to be back. Thank you to my entire team and to my fans that stand by me,” she wrote. “All of this is for you and because of you. excited for this chapter #sg2 @amas 💚.”

Meanwhile, Selena may not have shown off her new thigh tattoo during the show at the AMAs, but she took to Instagram to debut the new ink.

Gomez was hiding the new tattoo under her dress at the event, but she rolled up her robe before the show to give fans a peek in a new Instagram photo.

The tattoo appears to be two hands praying with a rosary wrapped around them.

“AMAs day.. more to come..🌼,” Selena captioned a collage of Polaroid snapped at the event.

Selena tagged tattoo shop Bang Bang on the Instagram photo. They commented on the post and said, “Looks great!”

LINDSAY LOHAN MOURNS LOSS OF BOYFRIEND HARRY MORTON – (11/26/2019)

Lindsay Lohan is mourning the loss of her former boyfriend, Harry Morton. The 38-year-old founder of the Pink Taco restaurant chain was found dead in his Beverly Hills home, according to reports. People reports that Harry’s younger brother Matthew found him.

There were no signs of foul play and an autopsy report is pending.

The 33-year-old Lindsay dated Harry in 2006. She shared a shot of them together on Instagram, writing: “Best friends. Best life.”

Friends and family, including her father Michael and her mother Dina, shared their condolences. Dina wrote, “So sorry my lil princess … he’s always with you, watching over you baby.”

The pair dated all summer during 2006, and were connected at the hip. A source told People that they split because Lindsay  “was too much drama.”

“Lindsay did cut down on the partying, but with her it’s all relative. Harry is sober,” the source said at the time. “It wasn’t the partying that broke them up. Harry’s more low-key and not into the same stuff she’s into.”

Harry, the son of Peter Morton, who co-founded the Hard Rock Café and Hotels, had also been linked to Demi Moore, Paris Hilton, Britney Spears and Jennifer Aniston.
