TAYLOR SWIFT MAKES HISTORY WITH evermore – (12/22/2020)
Taylor Swift closes out the year by making history once more. evermore, her latest album, bows at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, and her single “willow” captures #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, cementing her as the only artist in history to simultaneously debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and Billboard Hot 100 twice.
She accomplishes this feat only four months after the concurrent arrival of folklore and “cardigan” at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and Hot 100, respectively—which initially made her “the only artist in history to simultaneously debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and Billboard Hot 100.”
This week, she also holds No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with evermore and No. 3 with folklore. According to a press release, she is “the first woman to log two albums in the Top 3 of the Billboard 200 since 1963.”
The grateful singer addressed her fans on Twitter, writing, “Guys. Seriously. Thank you for doing this.”
ARIANA GRANDE SCORES SEVENTH NO. 1 – (12/22/2020)
Ariana Grande’s “Position” tops the Billboard Pop Songs radio airplay chart dated December 26th. It follows “7 Rings” to become the singer’s seventh No.1 on the Pop Songs chart.
It’s been a big week for Grande. She announced her engagement to real estate agent Dalton Gomez on Sunday (December 20th) and dropped her concert film, “excuse me, i love you” on Monday (December 21st).
KATY PERRY USED TO POSE AS ZOOEY DESCHANEL TO GET INTO CLUBS – (12/22/2020)
The aliens in Katy Perry’s latest videos aren’t the only ones who can’t tell the difference between the “Firework” singer and Zooey Deschanel.
According to a conversation the pair had on Instagram Live Monday (December 21st) plenty of Hollywood bouncers thought that Perry was the former New Girl star.
Perry admitted, “When I first went to LA, I went to the club a lot. And I wanted to get into the club and I had no money. I had no clout. I had nothing. And sometimes I would pose as you to get into the club.”
The pop star looked embarrassed when Deschanel told her she already knew. She said she took it as a compliment when she finally met Perry and realized how pretty she is.
KIM KARDASHIAN WEST ANNOUNCES PLAN TO GIVE OUT $500K TO STRANGERS – (12/22/2020)
Kim Kardashian West is giving $500 to 1,000 people, she announced on Twitter Monday.
The 40-year-old tweeted: “Hey guys! It’s the most wonderful time of the year. I know 2020 has been really hard and people are struggling, worried about how they’re going to pay rent, put food on the table, or a gift under the tree for their kids.”
She continued, “I want to spread the love by sending $500 to 1000 people.”
To win, followers had to reply with their $Cashtag and the hashtag #KKWHoliday for a chance to win.
Immediately, followers started sending her pitches. Wrote one: “My single mother works 7 days a week to feed us all 6 kids. Not only that, she takes care of my sick grandma & aunt w/ breast cancer back in Myanmar. We would love some blessing for the Holidays”.
Another wrote: “How incredible of you. Teacher and mom of 6, it’s definitely been hard. Thanks for the chance.”
