ED SHEERAN BREAKS BILLBOARD RECORD: Ed Sheeran now holds a “Perfect” chart record. The singer has become the first artist to have two No. 1 songs on the Billboard Adult Contemporary radio airplay chart that each remained at the top for at least 20 weeks. “Perfect” tops the chart for a 20th week, following “Shape of You,” which was No. 1 for 24 weeks. “Shape of You” had the second-longest reign on the Adult Contemporary chart in its 57-year history, beat only by 2003’s “Drift Away” by Uncle Kracker ft. Dobie Gray with 28 weeks. “Perfect” now joins the list of only eight songs to have led that particular chart for at least 20 weeks. Other songs on the list include “Hey, Soul Sister” by Train with 22 weeks, “Hello” by Adele with 21 weeks and “Breakaway” by Kelly Clarkson, also with 21 weeks.
