When Should You Shovel Off Your Roof?

How much snow is too much for your roof? Obviously the answer to that depends on your particular home, but the Insurance Institute for Business and Home Safety recommends definitely getting your roof shoveled off by two feet of snow, which can weigh as much as 60 pounds per square foot. They note it’s also important to remember that fresh snow doesn’t weigh as much as older snow or ice, which is much more dense. This doesn’t mean that your roof is necessarily safe below two feet of snow. The National Research Council Canada recommends keeping an eye on signs your house may give that it’s under strain from the snow. These signs can include unusual sounds from the roof or supporting walls, visible movement of walls or sagging of ceiling and cracking of drywall or plaster. Other signs may include doors that jam or water leaks that show up after a big snow fall.

Keeping your roof clear of snow can save you and your wallet a lot of hurt this winter.

Patriot Parodies to Pump You Up for Sunday!

Another season and another Super Bowl for our beloved New England Patriots…and Youtuber Ian Cunningham  is at again with another Patriot Parody.

For the past few seasons Ian has been bringing us awesome parody songs about the New England Patriots and with help from his friends he is creating quite the collection.

Let’s take a look…

Here’s Brady Pull Me Closer – To the tune of Closer by The Chainsmokers.

Here’s Amendola – To the tune of “Hallelujah” originally by Leonard Cohen. This was before Danny went to the Dolphins.

Here’s Just Slants – To the tune of Just Dance by Lady GaGa and it was just released a few weeks ago.

And now the latest… just in time for the BIG GAME on Sunday…

Here’s Champ Grind Edelman – To the tune of “Better Man” by Pearl Jam.

Job Well Done Ian!

Go Pats!

Box Office Recap – 01/28/2019

‘GLASS’ TOPS BOX OFFICE AS ‘SERENITY’ BOMBS – (01/28/2019)

M. Night Shyamalan’s Glass topped the box office once again, adding $19 million to its coffers in its second week of release. All told, Glass has raked in $73.5 million domestically.

Serenity and The Kid Who Would Be King, meanwhile, bombed. Working Title and 20th Century Fox’s The Kid nabbed a paltry $7 million in wide release; it cost $60 million to make pre-marketing. The family-friendly film earned positive reviews, but clearly failed to connect with audiences.

Serenity, a neo-noir thriller starring Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway, fared even worse, with just $4.8 million to show.  The reviews were brutal, and Serenity currently hovers around 22% on Rotten Tomatoes, and boasts a D+ CinemaScore.

The Upside managed to grab second place, bringing in $12.24.
